About Nina
I became fascinated by osteopathy (and the amazing human body) after having osteopathic treatment as a teenager following a fall off a horse. I studied at Unitec in Auckland, completing a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Biology), and Masters in Osteopathy in 2017.
Since graduating, my passion for osteopathy has continued to grow! I still practice general osteopathy, but have also pursued mentorships and further training in paediatric osteopathy, cranial and visceral treatment, as well as therapeutic suction cupping. I have also done post-graduate papers in Infant and Young Child Health, and Adolescent Health. I have been working as a specialised as Mum and Baby Osteo since 2019. I am also continuing education with the Barral Institute in Visceral Manipulation. |
In 2020 I decided to compliment my Mum & Baby osteopathy with training to become a birth doula. My interest in birth work began many years ago - long before the interest in osteopathy! I first heard of a doula when supporting a friend through their birth journey in 2014. At the time, I was already into my osteopathic studies so the idea had been "on hold" for several years before I seized the opportunity to train formally. I studied though the Australian Doula College, graduating in early 2021. This training included me supporting some amazing women and families through their birth journeys and into postpartum. I accept 2-4 bookings for doula support per year at the moment to keep the balance with my osteopathic work.
